Mysterious London techno imprint Pacific Command send out a hair-raising battle-cry to inaugurate the label, with young production outfit Senate debuting for 001. Using pummelling Berghain-techno as the base-plate, the Perth duo set about twisting this into ever more contorted incarnations, infusing title track 'Gangstalker' with element of early Hemlock built upon slabs of dark, organic Skull Disco-esque percussion. The 'Wardrum Call To Arms' mix of Gangstalker is given the Aphex treatment; all cloud-washed epic rave pads and foot-stuttering breakbeats. A cacophony of blistering 90's Sony Acid Pro experiments and lost DAT tapes. The flip sees Senate break into extended broken-techno territory, using a Villalobos assimilating 12 minute call-and-answer structure to build up layers of bass-led percussion, swooping synths and 2003 London basslines.
A pure sonic assault of broken, bass-led battleship techno.
